HTC: sales down 20% in April

HTC

The time is not yet in recovery for which the manufacturer HTC has released its sales for the month of April 2012. After a year-end compounded by increased competition from Samsung, which has become the world leader in smartphone sales and a strong presence in Android and early 2012 a small but consistent with the anticipated slowdown in activity, the second quarter, with the launch of the One new line HTC, is intended to stimulate growth of the manufacturer.

HTC provides its sales monthly, even if it is not audited and subject to few variations from the final quarterly report. Still, the sales of April 2012 is down 20% from April 2011 to 31 billion Taiwan dollars (810 million), against 38.7 billion Taiwan dollars .

It remains stable compared to March 2012 when it stood at $ 30.9 billion. In the first four months of the year, the combined turnover reached 98.8 billion Taiwan dollars, in severe decline of 31% over the same period last year.

It is too early to assess the effects of early sales of the range HTC HTC One but always seems caught in the slowdown of its business. The second half of 2012 should be more favorable but the domination of leaders Samsung and Apple and the growing pressure from other manufacturers, including Chinese, does not facilitate the growth prospects.
